Division by sharing means giving the same number of items to each person. If 12 sweets are shared among 4 friends, each gets 3. We write this as 12 divided by 4 equals 3.

▶How do I use the division-share lab?

Pick a total number of sweets and how many friends to share with. The lab puts sweets equally into baskets and shows the share each friend gets. If something is left over, that is the remainder.

▶When do we share equally at home?

Sharing 6 gulab jamuns between 2 children means 3 each. Sharing a packet of 20 biscuits among 5 cousins means 4 each. These are real division moments.

▶Quick tip for sharing

If the total cannot be divided evenly, there will be a remainder, and that is fine. Many real shares are not exact. Try odd numbers like 13 sweets with 4 friends to see the remainder.
