Chapter 9: Coconut Farm

A farmer wants to put a fence around his coconut farm. He needs to know the total length of fencing , the perimeter. He also wants to plant many coconut trees inside. To know how many will fit, he needs the area of the land.

In this chapter we learn the difference between perimeter and area. We measure perimeter as a length and area as a "covering" of square units. By the end you will be able to plan any rectangular garden, room, or playground.
