Chapter 6: The Dairy Farm

A dairy farm is a busy place. Every morning, hundreds of litres of milk are collected. Trucks carry milk in cans. Workers count, weigh, and bill. Behind every glass of milk there are big numbers , number of cows, litres of milk, kilograms of feed, rupees of sale.

In this chapter we use a dairy farm to learn about large numbers , numbers in lakhs , and how to multiply, divide, and handle money with them. By the end you will read 1,00,000 (one lakh) as easily as you read 100.
